Professor Thomas Lange has arrived at BU to take up his post as Dean of our Business School.

He joins us from the Department of Business Economics at Auckland University of Technology in New Zealand where he was Professor of Economics and Chair of the Department.

Professor Lange joins BU at an exciting time. His arrival coincides with the Business School’s preparations to launch a new Executive Business Centre (EBC) in the commercial district of Bournemouth. The contemporary Centre will act as a central business hub for the region where the Business School will deliver professional and executive education, including the Bournemouth MBA.

Professor Lange enjoys a distinguished international reputation for his research in the areas of Empirical Human Resource Management, Personnel Economics, Employee Relations and the Measurement of the Quality of (Working) Life.

His research results have informed the policy work of the World Bank, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, European Commission, United Nations, and local and national governments.

“Bournemouth University’s vision to develop a Business School of truly international standing provides an exciting challenge, and one I fully embrace,” said Professor Lange. “Building on existing strengths and expertise, I look forward to working with all colleagues in the Business School and beyond to turn this ambition into a reality”.
