BU second in the UK for graduate prospects12 June 2009
BU continues to rate as one of the best places in the UK for launching a successful career. According to the latest update from the Complete University Guide, BU is second only to the London School of Economics (LSE) overall in the list of top UK universities for graduate prospects. BU outperforms both Oxford and Cambridge in the list and places ahead of fellow new university Nottingham Trent in the top 10. The results mean that a higher percentage of BU graduates are likely to attain graduate level employment within six months of completing their studies than students from any other UK institution, apart from the LSE. The rating reflects the wide-ranging mix of professional subjects offered at BU as well as the number of students from Bournemouth pursuing further study, both of which offer positive reflections on the University. BU is fully committed to creating the right environment to support the professional and personal development of all its graduates. A large percentage of undergraduate students at BU gain professional experience during their degree programmes through 40-week placements. Thanks to the University’s strong links with industry, many of our students enjoy placements with major international organisations including British Airways, IBM, Sony, Lufthansa, JPMorganChase and Vodafone. BU achieved its highest ever ranking in this year’s Complete University Guide, confirming its status as one of the UK’s leading new universities. The University’s rise of three places to 54th overall in this year’s Guide, confirms the University as one of the top five new universities in the country (those that became universities since 1992).
