Annual Awards Ceremonies 2011

BU students at their Graduation BU’s 2011 graduates to be honoured this month at the 2011 Annual Awards Ceremonies.

Thousands of people will join Bournemouth University to celebrate the success of its latest graduates during the 2011 Annual Awards Ceremonies.

The ceremonies take place between Tuesday and Friday, 8-11 November, at the Bournemouth International Centre (BIC).

Graduates from the University's six Academic Schools plus Academic Services, Partner Colleges and Graduate School will receive degrees, diplomas and professional qualifications over seven ceremonies:

Tuesday, 8 November
10.30am – School of Applied Sciences
2.30pm – School of Health & Social Care

Wednesday, 9 November
10.30am – School of Tourism
2.30pm – School of Design, Engineering & Computing

Thursday, 10 November
10.30am – Student and Academic Services
                  The Business School (Postgraduate)
                  (Post-ceremony reception - 12.30pm)
2.30pm – The Business School (Undergraduate)
                (Post-ceremony reception - 4.30pm)

Friday, 11 November
10.30am – The Media School

A number of special prize-winners will be recognised, including the recipient of the annual Vice-Chancellor's Prize, presented to the graduate whose achievements at BU are deemed the most distinguished overall. Honorary Doctorates, celebrating the careers and contributions of distinguished guests from a variety of backgrounds will also be awarded over the four days.

For the fifth consecutive year, all Awards Ceremonies will be streamed live via the internet, enabling family and friends who are unable to visit Bournemouth to watch the Ceremonies as they happen.

“BU congratulates all of this year's graduates,” said Bournemouth University Vice-Chancellor, Professor John Vinney. “This is a very special occasion for the graduates, their families and friends. We look forward to welcoming them to the BIC and sharing in the celebrations.”
