Michel Roux Jr. and Fiona Jeffery OBE visit BU

Bournemouth University’s School of Tourism welcomed two world-renowned tourism and hospitality figures, Michel Roux Jr. and Fiona Jeffrey OBE, on Wednesday 14 March.

Michel Roux Jr. discussed his success as a two-star Michelin Chef at London Restaurant, Le Gavroche along with his recent hosting of ‘Masterchef: The Professionals’ and ‘Service’ on the BBC. An interview with Michel from the day can be seen below.

Tourism expert, Fiona Jeffery OBE, who is Chair of the World Travel Market and the international water-aid charity Just A Drop, provided insights into her career and took part in a discussion around current trends in tourism. An interview with Fiona from the day can be seen below.

Both speakers met students and staff and shared their industry knowledge and offered tips on how to get ahead.

Michel and Fiona visited as part of a one day Careers Forum hosted by 2nd year Events Management students from the School of Tourism. As well as the guest speakers, the day consisted of workshops and a careers fair, which enabled students to network with employers about placement opportunities and graduate employment.
