BU Dean hits top ten book list20 June 2008
A book about the merger of Rover and BMW written by the Dean of the Business School, Professor Chris Brady, has been voted one of the best for business. Co-written by Professor Chris Brady, ‘End of the Road: The Real Story of the Downfall of Rover’ is currently number ten in the Ten Best Business Books list, as voted by The Independent. The book, which examines BMW’s acquisition of car manufacturer Rover, is written by Professor Brady and former business editor of the Sunday Times, Andrew Lorenz. In reviewing the book in its IndyBest column, The Independent says: “No other M&A ‘case study’ is more educative in demonstrating the importance of brand than the BMW-Rover debacle. Narrated superbly well by Brady and Lorenz.” Professor Brady is a leading academic, author and consultant. His other literary credits include ‘The Extra Mile: engaging the workforce to win’, ‘Intelligent M & A’, ‘The 90 Minute Manager’ and ‘The Rules of the Game’. He has consulted with corporations such as Citigroup, Deutsche Bank, Morley Fund Management, Virgin Atlantic, Sportingbet.com, Nationwide, EDS and Getronics. Prior to joining BU, Professor Brady was Associate Dean and Professor of Management and Public Policy at the Cass Business School. He is currently driving forward a new Executive Business School at Bournemouth. The 2005 revised edition of 'End of the Road' is published by Prentice Hall.
