Sony studio set for celebration23 April 2008
ITV news anchor man and former Bournemouth resident Mark Austin will officially open our ground-breaking High Definition Television Studio this Friday 25 April. Austin started his reporting career at the Bournemouth Daily Echo. He will be joined for the Media School’s High Definition Celebration by a host of special guests, including representatives from the media industry. There will be an audience with TV’s ‘Doc Martin’, actor Martin Clunes, in which he will share experiences from his long and successful acting career. Clunes received an honorary doctorate from BU last November. BU will also welcome representatives from Endemol, one of Britain’s largest independent TV production companies, best known for 'Big Brother' and 'Deal or No Deal', to honour student recipients of scholarships sponsored by the company. The new Television Studio is the first campus-based Sony HD facility in the UK. It provides students and staff with an exceptional opportunity to use the latest equipment for High Definition video production and a managed post-production environment. “The studio marks a major investment for BU and underscores our commitment to ensuring that students work with the very latest industry-standard equipment,” said Stephen Jukes, Dean of the Media School. “Sony has a strong track record of delivering innovative and tailored production systems for the professional broadcast industry, so that our graduates can hit the ground running when they start their working careers.” Related Articles: Related Links:Return to news archive page Return to news menu page |
