BU climbs higher in UK league table30 April 2008
BU is celebrating after moving up ten places in the latest Good University Guide. Vice-Chancellor Professor Paul Curran said: “The external indicators for BU continue to look excellent, with more applicants, record levels of research and enterprise activity and a continued upward trend in the major league tables. “To rise to third among our peer group in only three years is the result of dedication and commitment by so many” Professor Curran continued. “I would like to thank our staff, students and the University’s many supporters for their individual contribution to what is a tremendous achievement.” ‘The Good University Guide’ provides an internet-based assessment of UK universities based on various criteria. It judges institutions on areas ranging from student satisfaction and entry standards, to the funds spent by universities on student services and facilities. The findings were published in ‘The Independent’ newspaper this year, as part of a new ‘Complete University Guide’. Writing in the new guide, correspondent Andy Sharman praised the employability of our graduates and our close links with industry as contributing factors to our rise up the table. Sharman observed: “[BU] has worked closely with employers to develop its courses: and it shows.” BU has climbed in most national rankings and league tables over the last two years. We are the fastest rising English university over the last two years in The Times' 'Good University Guide'. Related Links:Return to news archive page Return to news menu page |
