BU Awards Honorary Doctorates for 2006

Julian Fellowes Distinguished names amongst those receiving Honorary Doctorates from BU.

Oscar-winning screenwriter, actor and director Julian Fellowes is one of five distinguished guests to be awarded with an Honorary Doctorate during Bournemouth University’s annual Autumn Award Ceremonies for 2006 at the Bournemouth International Centre.

Professor Gillian Slater, the former Vice-Chancellor of Bournemouth University, is recognised for her outstanding contribution during her 10 years with the institution.

Bournemouth University’s close ties with the island of Guernsey are reaffirmed as Geoffery Rowland, the Bailiff of Guernsey, steps forward to receive an honorary doctorate.

Captain Michael Fulford-Dobson, the former Lord Lieutenant of Dorset, is honoured in recognition of his Royal work within Dorset and his enthusiasm, tireless attention to detail and dedication to the county.

Bruce Steele, co-founder of leading UK computer animation and special effects company Glassworks, receives an honorary doctorate in recognition of his achievements.
