Deadline coming for £1000 a year International Undergraduate scholarships

The opportunity to apply for the special programme of £1000 per year scholarships for one-in-three talented International students who enroll on the Media School 's Undergraduate programmes is getting closer to its March 31 deadline.

The Dean of the Media School , Stephen Jukes, has announced: "At undergraduate level, we guarantee that at least one in every three Media School international students will receive a scholarship, but this opportunity is getting close to its closing date.

"Already, we are recording a higher level of applications than for 2008/09 academic year."

The scholarship consists of an annual payment of £1,000 for each year of a course (excluding placement years) and is offered to all international students who live outside of the European Union and are classed for fees purposes as 'overseas' students.

Dean Jukes said "We are looking for students who have achieved an exemplary standard in their previous studies or who have prior professional experiences that would bring exciting and valuable global perspectives to our student community.

"There is a mutual benefit for international students to join our excellent courses and for the School and its students to learn from their cultures and backgrounds. More than ever, the media and communication industries are cross-border and cross-culture and that's why we have launched these special scholarships."

Although the initial UCAS deadline of January 15 th 2009 has passed, Bournemouth University is still considering applications from international students through UCAS.
