BU graduate scoops award at the 2011 .Net awards ceremony in London. |
Not being content with writing a book, graduating with a first, scoring a top job as Technical Evangelist for Mozilla all under a year of graduating, Rob Hawkes has just won the Brilliant Newcomer of the Year award.
High achieving graduate of the BA (Hons) Interactive Media Productuction Alumni Rob, scooped the award, which was voted for by industry professionals, last night at the rock themed .Net awards held at Madam JoJo’s in central London.
Rob got into web design aged 12 and has not stopped since, telling .Net that 2011 has been a very busy year for the web enthusiast:
“The past nine months feel like an absolute blur really, but there are a few major events and projects that occurred during 2011 that stand out for me. The first is that I somehow managed to write and get a book published by Apress. Another big event that happened this year is that I graduated with a First in my Interactive Media Production degree at Bournemouth University.”
The successful graduate credits his job at Mozilla as being his biggest achievement to date:
“Somehow I managed to find myself working for Mozilla! I’m really chuffed about that and, although I’ve only been here two months, I’m itching to do some awesome stuff!”
The Brilliant Newcomer of the Year award was sponsored by happy cog.
