MEC 2011 Symposium

The Mediating Environmental Change (MEC) symposium will take place on March 4th at Bournemouth University’s Media School.

The event, which runs from 9am to 6.15pm, will facilitate a debate on emerging and established forms and practices of environmental reporting. This symposium will debate emerging and established forms and practices of environmental communication, including: Global Issues and Local Contexts, Climate Change and Democracy, The Power of the Image, Climate Activism and Citizen Conversations and Conservation, Media and Pedagogy.

Guests include:

  • Alex Lockwood (University of Sunderland/ Save Our Forests)
  • Dan Glass (Plane Stupid)
  • James Painter (University of Oxford/BBC)
  • Rupert Read (University of East Anglia/ Green Party)

Plus an exciting array of speakers from universities across the UK and overseas.
