BU one of 11 UK universities now in partnership with the PR Consultants Association (PRCA). |
Bournemouth University’s (BU) long-established BA (Hons) Public Relations course has been hailed “excellent” and “intellectually rigorous” by key national professional body, the Public Relations Consultant Association (PRCA), which has just established a partnership with the University.
BU is one of 11 UK universities recognised by PRCA as offering first-rate PR courses.
The PRCA negotiated the partnerships to build stronger ties between the PR industry and universities which are seen to provide “tangible benefit to students” through the quality and industry recognition of their degrees.
“PRCA’s endorsement is a clear message that BU’s public relations courses are deeply respected by employers and offers real employability value to students”, said programme coordinator Dr Dan Jackson.
The partnership provides many practical benefits to BU PR students throughout their degree studies through access to industry speakers, training materials and industry information. They also become formally associated with the PRCA once they begin their studies. This will allow students to attend association events and sign up to its Code of Conduct and Professional Charter.
“The future prospects of BU students will be significantly boosted as they will have free access to the association’s online training and entry level qualification, as well as a portal dedicated to graduate jobs,” Dr Jackson added. “Overall the partnership creates a ‘win-win’ situation for students at BU and the PR industry.”
