Bournemouth University advertising students pitch to Europe's elite

7 April 2009

Ad Venture logo For the first time four teams of Bournemouth students studying Advertising and Marketing Communications degree have submitted a campaign plan into a European competition called Ad Venture.

The students will be up against every higher education institute in Europe, the pitch is aimed at getting European consumers to put the environment at the top of their 'consideration set'. The group of four came up with a creative and inventive campaign background, create clear objectives, proposed a strategy and composed a creative brief for the competition.

The four hand picked teams were supported by their Planning and Creative Analysis tutors as part of their final year studies. "We were entered into Ad Venture after receiving one of the top 16 grades in a campaign plan for the Advertising and Marketing course, so it was a really exciting time for us", said Melissa Mould, 4th year student on Advertising, Marketing and Communication. "Extra activities such as this is one of the great things about the Advertising, Marketing and Communication course, they are always encouraging you, and providing you with opportunities to exert yourself beyond just your piece of coursework, and providing you with real life industry experience".

If any of the teams get short listed they are off to Vienna to present to a panel of top advertising judges, with the finalists going to Cannes Lions, a top international advertising festival and the Euro Effies Award Ceremony. Watch this space!
