Brahms Requiem for University Performance22 February 2007
The performance is scheduled for 7.30pm at St Stephen’s Church in central Bournemouth and features the work of Johannes Brahms, including his Academic Festival Overture and Requiem. Featured soloists will be soprano Seija Knight, and baritone Gary Griffiths. The Orchestra is led by Stefan Defilet and the concert will be conducted by Aidan Fairlie. "We're hoping that the community will come out and support this event," says Fairlie, Head of Music at Bournemouth University. "A great deal of hard work has gone into rehearsal and the concert should prove an enjoyable occasion in such a superb venue.” Tickets for this performance are £10.00 with concessions for OAPs and students of £5.00 available from the University, in advance, or on the door.
