BU to host BowShot e-Den series
The BowShot e-Den competition returns to BU with an opportunity for emerging web entrepreneurs to win £10,000. The e-Den format is based on the popular Dragons' Den concept, as featured on BBC TV. During each e-Den event, four candidates will have their web-based companies scrutinised by a panel of experts in front of a live audience. Winners will emerge from each preliminary round in April, May, June and July, and the four finalists will meet in September, where an overall winner will be chosen. The outright winner will receive up to £10,000 worth of e-business consultancy, and 12 months’ membership of BowShot’s e-traders’ Group. Last year more than 500 audience members watched as the expert judging panel offered thousands of pounds’ worth of advice on how to make each e-business more profitable. Andy Tucker of Naturetrek Ltd, won the competition in 2007 and believes it made a huge difference to his business. “Our staff and management have become much more focused on the value of our e-business, which has seen a big increase in turnover,” said Andy.
“I would recommend taking part, whether as a candidate or as a member of the audience, to anyone who is serious about improving their sales through the web.” The expert panel for e-Den in 2008 features Martin Montague, CEO of Symbios Group, which runs over 200 e-commerce sites, and Spencer Gallagher, founder and MD of Bluhalo, a UK Top 20 digital agency, responsible for 1,300+ active websites, as well as other e-business professionals. This is the second e-Den series organised by BowShot Ltd, the framework organisation for an active community of high-achieving entrepreneurs, in Dorset and Hampshire. “In what is predicted to be a tough year for UK businesses, being able to generate additional revenue through the internet can be vital.” Event Details Where: Lees Lecture Theatre, Talbot Campus Return to news archive page Return to news menu page |
