Marketing in network environments
Professor Teck Yong Eng will deliver his lecture ‘Marketing in network environments: exploiting network resources and developing network capabilities’ on Wednesday 17 March at 6pm in the Executive Business Centre on BU’s Lansdowne Campus. In the lecture, Professor Eng will discuss the growing complexity of business environments characterised by network phenomenon, which he describes as: “A set of two or more connected business relationships and the extent to which exchange in one relation is dependent on the exchange (or non-exchange) in the other”. As business environments become increasingly inter-connected and globalised, a network view of marketing can be crucial for competitiveness and sustaining competitive advantage. Referring to some of his published findings, Professor Eng will give an overview of the main challenges of strategy development in networks and offer advice to marketing managers on how to exploit network resources. Professor Eng joined BU’s Business School in September 2008 as Professor of Marketing. He is Director of the School’s Centre for Research in Management. He has a PhD in Management Sciences and his research focuses on explaining value creation and firm performance in the areas of business marketing, innovation and dynamic capabilities.
