BU’s John Kent Institute in Tourism is delighted to announce it will fund another PhD student to undertake vital tourism research at the centre.
The Institute is now offering one successful applicant an annual bursary of £13,800 for a maximum of three years for 2011/12 entry.
Based in the School of Tourism, the Institute has already awarded four PhD studentships in tourism research in 2010 – strengthening the University’s global reputation as a leading provider of tourism research and education.
Applicants can select a PhD title from a list of industry-relevant topics that aim to improve the quality of the global tourism industry. The topics are:
The John Kent Institute in Tourism was established in November 2009 through a gift made to the University by one of the world’s leading tourism entrepreneurs, John Kent. This substantial contribution has made it possible for postgraduate researchers from around the world to take up key research projects at BU, contributing to BU’s vibrant and world-class research culture.
Professor Dimitrios Buhalis, who is Director of the Institute, said: “I’m very pleased to be able to invite applications for a talented applicant to join the John Kent Institute in Tourism team in researching cutting edge topics in tourism. We already have made great progress and research results are emerging in the marketplace and are appreciated by the global scientific community.”
