School Celebrates Vice-Chancellor Award Win

Date: 24 May 2011

The winning 'Team of the Year' at the Vice Chancellor's Award Ceremony

School of Applied Sciences Laboratory and Technical Team success at new awards ceremony.

May saw the first ever Bournemouth University Vice Chancellor’s Awards ceremony. BU staff could nominate colleagues they believed deserved a pat on the back for their excellent work.

We’re pleased to announce that the ‘Team of the Year’ award went to the School of Applied Sciences Laboratory and Technical Team, as led by Dr Iain Green. The competition was stiff, with many nominations from across BU making it a very significant achievement. Well done!

In addition the Students’ Union, SUBU, presented their first ‘You’re Brilliant’ award. There were 19 nominees put forward by student representatives for anyone who had made a very positive impact on their experience.

Before her mover to the Business School, Laura Backley was nominated by School of Applied Sciences students and came in the top three. That means she’s officially considered one of the three ‘most outstandingly brilliant staff members’ by SUBU. Congratulations Laura.
