Timothy Darvill One of Britain's oldest learned societies appoints BU Professor  

Professor Timothy Darvill has been appointed a Vice-President of the Society of Antiquaries of London, one of Britain's oldest learned societies. His appointment was announced in London on the 24th May by the recently elected President, Professor Geoffrey Wainwright.

2007 is particularly significant in the history of the Society as it celebrates its Tercentenary with meetings, lectures, and exhibitions across the world.

On 21st June 2007, Professor Darvill will be joined by Professor Clive Ruggles of Leicester University in giving a public lecture on Stonehenge as one of the acclaimed Cultural Campus Seminars periodically held in Burlington House, Piccadilly.
