Environmental Forensics: New for 2006-06-15

The Environmental & Geographical Sciences Group is pleased to announce the launch of its new BSc (Hons) Environmental Forensics Environmental Forensics validated in March 2006 and taking its first entry this September.   Environmental Forensics is an emerging discipline, although its components are well established.

It encompasses all aspects of environmental contamination, accident investigation and health & safety compliance within a legal context. Our environment is evermore regulated and environmental scientists are increasingly being asked to ensure due diligence, corporate governance, and assess such concepts as environmental sustainability and liability.

This exciting new course will produce graduates who can design, execute and defend, as expert witnesses, legally robust environmental investigation and monitoring programmes. Students will acquire skills that are central to the new breed of environmental scientist, able to function in an increasingly regulated world.

The course is ideal for those interested in pollution, contaminated land, health & safety, environmental management and environmental law.
