The celebratory medal awarded to Professor Timothy Darvill |
Professor Timothy Darvill, Head of the Archaeology and Historic Environment Group in the School of Conservation Sciences, as just been honoured with the award of a celebratory medal for being amongst the first group of contributors to a new Russian scientific journal Достояние Поколений (which roughly translates as ‘Generations’ Heritage’).
Tim’s invited paper reviews arrangements for rescue archaeology in Britain and western Europe and is printed alongside reports on excavations by Russian scholars, studies of important finds, technical and methodological up-dates, debates on archaeological / heritage issues, and reviews of internet sites.
The journal is published Archaeological Heritage Foundation (Археологическое Наследие) which was created in 2002 with the participation of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Institute of Archaeology in Moscow and can be found on-line.
