The Exploitation of Intellectual Property within Product Design

This event brings together specialists in Intellectual Property and Product Design. With speakers including product designers, industry players and design practitioners this workshop, organised by Bournemouth Universitys Centre for Intellectual Property Policy and Management (CIPPM), will provide a forum for a lively interchange of ideas and current thinking.

The event is being hosted by Ruth Soetendorp, Professor of Intellectual Property Management and Prof. Jim Roach, Head of Enterprise and Knowledge Transfer within the School of Design, Engineering and Computing.

Intellectual Property and Engineers: 2nd UK Workshop: Commercial Exploitation

Following on from the successful 1st Workshop in 2005, this workshop will provide an opportunity for IP and Engineering academics, industry practitioners and entrepreneurs to explore and demonstrate best practice in the commercialisation aspects of engineering education. It is expected that participants will leave with a new and improved IP and Engineering toolkit for survival including new perspectives to apply to their own IP exploitation activities.

This workshop is being supported by the Higher Education Academy LTSN for Engineering (The Engineering Subject Centre) and for Law (UK Centre for Legal Education) research grants received by Bournemouth to investigate the integration of intellectual property in the engineering syllabus.
