Expert practitioners in the games, audio and music technology industries came together last week in their capacity as the advisory panel for our Creative Technology courses.

Our industry expert panel will regularly review our course content to ensure it is up-to-date and that our students are learning to use the latest technology to give them a head-start in their chosen careers.

Employers of our graduates from across the UK include Absolute Music; one of the UK’s fastest growing online music retailers. MD Alan Barclay is an advocate of the placement year, offering our students the opportunity to put the theories they learn in their first two years of study into practice.

Other panel members work with our students on real, “live” projects which contribute to their businesses. 4T2 (specialists in online/casual games) are co-funding a doctorate in Engineering (EngD) student who is based at their premises.

The panel includes representatives from companies such as Ubisoft Reflections, Aardvark Swift, Climax Group, Focusrite and Room with a View Studios.

Dr Reza Sahandi, Associate Dean and Head of Creative Technology at BU, thanked the panel for their input to the courses. “Their support and advice means that our courses are specifically geared to the needs of the profession. Our students will leave BU uniquely prepared in their knowledge of the creative processes and the practical technologies required in this fast paced environment”.
