BU’s Old Fire Station Kicks off Red Nose Rallyoke!

Chris Moyles at The Old Fire Station Stars from Radio 1’s The Chris Moyles Show kicked off the Red Nose Rallyoke at BU’s Old Fire Station on Friday.

Chris and the breakfast team entertained the 800 strong audience singing karaoke and rating audience members brave enough to take to the stage.

Special guests McFly also joined in, singing “The Time of My Life” from Dirty Dancing. Vocalist/guitarist Danny entertained the crowd with “Mustang Sally,” and even drummer Harry did a solo with Enrique Iglesias’ “Hero”.

In 2005 Chris and the team raised over £600,000 during their Red Nose Rally tour. This year, they’re combining the rally with karaoke, resulting in ‘Rallyoke’.

Chris Moyles and audience member on stage at The Old Fire Station The nationwide tour now travels to Swansea, Liverpool, Belfast, Glasgow, Loughborough and London.

The Chris Moyles Show producer is Rachel Jones, a BU graduate. She began producing the award-winning show in 2003, and recently won “best UK radio Producer” in the Television and Radio Awards.

So far Red Nose Rallyoke has raised nearly £340,000 for Comic Relief.
