BU’s new Executive Business Centre BU’s new Executive Business Centre is being launched this autumn

A series of high profile business events will introduce BU’s new Executive Business Centre to the south's business community this autumn.

Situated in the heart of Bournemouth’s major business district, this new building offers the latest in business accommodation; including its paper-free e-library, bespoke study areas, and executive dining facilities.

Café Lissio, situated on the ground floor, is open to all and provides local companies with the perfect opportunity to 'do business' in modern, comfortable surroundings.

The exclusive business events will give invited guests the opportunity to view the innovative facilities available at the Executive Business Centre while networking with some of the area's biggest businesses.

Kicking off the programme of inspirational events will be the 'Editors' Breakfast' on 17 September. The panel consisting of Bournemouth Daily Echo editor, Neal Butterworth, Southern Daily Echo editor, Ian Murray and Meridian reporter, Martin Dowse, will discuss the morning's news and current media landscape over breakfast with the area's business leaders.

The official opening ceremony hosted by Chancellor-Designate Lord Phillips on 24 September, will officially recognise the Executive Business Centre's new role in the town. BU’s vision is that it will not only act as a major business hub for the region, but also become a centre of excellence, with the Business School delivering professional and executive education, including the Bournemouth MBA.

At 'A Taste of Tomorrow', on 1 October, guests will be invited to share a view of what the future holds and the hot topics that will shape policy and practice within the professions. The taster lectures will be followed by a tasting of another kind, when Chewton Glen's head sommelier, Alan Holmes, guides guests through the wines of the future.

This series will conclude with a big name from the business world who will impart pearls of wisdom to an intimate audience. Details of the 'Big Name' will be revealed at a later date.

Professor Thomas Lange, Dean of the Business School, said: “There’s a real buzz of excitement as we open the doors to our new Executive Business Centre. Our series of events have been designed to reflect the spirit of business which is nurtured and thriving within the School.”

The events are being organised by BU in partnership with Liz Lean PR, the South’s leading public relations company. Related Articles:
