Postgraduate students exhibit their PhD research projects and compete against each other to win recognition of the best poster design. |
The poster research conference held this month was an opportunity for the school’s PhD students to exhibit their work in an original format – through the medium of posters.
The students were tasked with designing and producing a relevant and engaging poster to accurately represent the research they were currently undertaking. Each poster was then displayed, competing against one another for the judges’ attention and approval.
Judges examined each of the posters on the morning of the event, scrutinising every detail before speaking to the students about the posters they had created. Dr Peter Barnwell MBE, Founder and Chairman of Custom Interconnect Ltd, presented the winners with their prizes during the afternoon ceremony.
Winning posters were by Liliana Moyers (first year student), Choukri Mecheraoui (second year student) and Gonzalo Garcia Fatjo-Atance (third year student). Each of the winners received a certificate signed by Dean of School, Jim Roach and £30 cash. The exhibition also gave students the chance to showcase their research in front of major industry representatives and network amongst some key players in the market.
