BU is pleased to host the Centre for Hospitality Management Education (CHME) National Student Conference 'Green is the New Black: A pragmatic approach to green issues for the hospitality industry' on Friday 12 March.

Aimed at those working and studying within the hospitality industry, the conference has been organised by BU Hospitality students and will take place at The Durley Dean Hotel, West Cliff Road, Bournemouth.

The conference will explore the environmental and economical challenges facing the industry.

Leading industry figures will talk about a variety of perspectives regarding the green agenda, with a particular focus on the pragmatic and positive contribution organisations can make whilst achieving their competitive position in the market place.

Speakers include:

  • CEO of 'Taste of the West'
  • CE of the Vegan Society
  • Hotel General Manager
  • MD Charlton House
  • Sustainability Strategist for 'South West Toursim'

Delegates will be invited to a free programme of entertainment to be held in Bournemouth town centre the evening before the event on Thursday 11 March.
