JAMES accreditation BU earns Music and Audio Technology industry accreditation.

Bournemouth University are proud to announce that BSc (Hons) Music and Audio Technology has received accreditation by JAMES (Joint Audio Media Education Support).

JAMES actively creates strong relationships between education and the media industries to support students whilst studying in preparation for making the transition into work. Recognising and accrediting a course is one way in which JAMES work to ensure academic excellence is recognised and given value within the industry.

In a report assessing the course, JAMES remarked that the “level of technical engineering and design, is very high and unique” and praised “the engagement with industry, evidenced by the number of visiting lecturers and links with well-known audio industry companies.”

Alain Renaud, Senior Lecturer in Music and Audio Technology, said:

“We are delighted to have achieved JAMES accreditation for our course in Music and Audio Technology at BU. The accreditation confirms that the course is tailored to meet the needs of the industry. The JAMES panel was impressed by the fact that the content of the course is highly technical and not so much focussed on music production. JAMES will bring students more interactions with the industry and the fact that the organisation is close to the content and music technologies industry will allow us to always be in line with industry requirements.”
