Bournemouth University’s (BU) Deputy Vice-Chancellor, David Willey is in India this week visiting academic institutions and their students and meeting our graduates.
David will be accompanied by David Newell, Senior Lecturer in Systems Integration from the School of Design, Engineering & Computing and Dr Alex Tattersall, Lecturer in International Studies from the Business School. They will be visiting Hindustan University, one of the leading Engineering Institutions in India and University of Mumbai where David Willey will present a lecture on employability, the value of a UK education and the BU student experience to potential students.
David Willey, Deputy Vice-Chancellor said: “A key part of BU’s strategy is its focus on global citizenship, developing long lasting relationships with institutions across the world. These partnerships are based on academic synergy, research and student and staff exchanges, ensuring that our students graduate with a wide experience of global issues and diversity. In my visits to Hindustan University and to Chennai and Mumbai, I see great opportunities to strengthen these links.”
Whilst in India David Willey will also be meeting BU alumni who live and work in India and finding out what they value about their UK education.
“We have some very successful Indian BU alumni and I am looking forward to meeting with them to find out their thoughts on their experience at BU and how that has supported their careers after graduation. Our feedback shows that Indian students have performed very well at BU and seem to adapt easily to the UK education system as it has many similarities.”
