BU’s Creative Enterprise Bureau to hold free business consultations for a week from 6 February. |
Bournemouth University (BU) is opening its doors next week to the regional business sector, to share knowledge and deliver practical marketing solutions in the difficult economic climate.
The Creative Enterprise Bureau, a unique collaboration between academics and final year students at the University, offers support and consultancy services to the local business community. It is holding Open Surgery from 6 February, where for one week, companies can benefit from a free initial business consultation session delivered by academics with expertise in Advertising, Marketing, PR and Journalism. The team have experience in working for some of the world’s top agencies and brands. Recent clients have included Channel 4, Toyota and Dorset Wildlife Trust.
Bureau Manager, Liam Toms, himself a graduate of BU, explains: “We recognise that in a tough financial climate, any budget allocated to marketing has to guarantee a return on investment. The sessions we’re running next week will offer advice on key topics such as how to develop an effective marketing strategy, planning and evaluating your advertising spend, how to achieve publicity for your business and the production of news content for your clients and partners.
“Clearly, a strong online presence and effective use of social media is essential in today’s converged communications world and this will no doubt be a popular topic. Our academics can look at the benefits new media can bring to your business, and review your current marketing activity. We have found from our previous client work that an impartial, bespoke assessment of your business can often shed light on a new approach.”
Open Surgery takes place at BU’s Talbot Campus from Monday 6 February to Friday 10 February, with a range of times to suit. Each free consultation lasts an hour and following the appointment, the Creative Enterprise Bureau will issue a 'prescription' document outlining indicative recommendations for solving the issues addressed.
Book now to avoid disappointment by calling Liam Toms on 01202 962020 or email ltoms@bournemouth.ac.uk. Visit the Creative Enterprise Bureau’s website for testimonials and examples of current client projects across the UK.
