Bournemouth University has recognised the latest group of students to complete its Preparatory English Programme (BUPEP). |
Some 140 students graduated from this year's Autumn Degree Admission programme. An additional group of 85 BUPEP students are at Richard Language College in Bournemouth as part of the Spring Degree Admission programme and will graduate in December to start courses in January/February 2012. Both programmes experienced a 50% increase in student numbers compared to last year.
The course not only improves the participants' English language skills but ensures they are familiar with the UK and BU both academically and culturally. The graduates will continue their studies in the University's Business School, School of Design, Engineering and Computing, Media School and School of Tourism.
"Everyone on the programme has worked hard on all areas of the course which includes listening, speaking, reading, writing, researching, presenting and note-taking," said Rachel Sunderland from the University's International Pathways Team. "The staff involved have delivered an excellent course to ensure that these students are fully prepared to continue with their academic courses at BU and we wish them every success."
