BU to host National Beach Volleyball Cup

Top competition headed to Bournemouth beach for national student volleyball championship.

SportBU is set to host the Volleyball England National Beach Student Cup on Boscombe Beach in Bournemouth this weekend (5-6 June).

This is the second consecutive year that BU has hosted this prestigious event. The two-day tournament will feature a record number of over 90 top student beach volleyball duos including several top GB players from Bath University and several BU teams to compete for this national student championship.

The event sees Men's and Women's Doubles competitions start from 10.00 am on Saturday and Sunday on over 20 courts near Boscombe Pier (approx 50 yards to the left of the Pier, near the Surf Reef) with finals being held on centre court Sunday afternoon.

The free event is supported by Bournemouth Borough Council, Sport England and Wessex Volleyball which also sees a players wigwam area and pitch side seating provided by Red Bull, a pitch side BBQ supplied by Urban Beach and live centre court music and commentary.
