The region’s top journalists will review the day’s newspapers at BU’s high-profile Executive Business Centre event. |
BU is pleased to announce the addition of Wave 105's news editor, Jason Beck, to the existing panel of editors for the Editors' Breakfast event on Thursday 17th September.
Jason will be in good company joining Bournemouth Daily Echo editor, Neal Butterworth, Southern Daily Echo editor, Ian Murray and Meridian reporter, Martin Dowse to discuss the morning's news and current media landscape over breakfast with the area's business leaders.
The Editors' Breakfast is the first in a series of exclusive events to introduce Bournemouth University's new Executive Business Centre in Bournemouth town centre to the south's business community.
At the event, invited guests will have the opportunity to grill the editors on the business of media in their respective medium: print, TV and now radio, all in the modern, comfortable surroundings of an impressive building, built to do business.
Wave 105’s Jason Beck said: “This is a great opportunity to discuss news agendas and how we choose the news with local business people. I am also looking forward to meeting with my colleagues from other regional media to look at and talk about how they select their news.”
Professor Thomas Lange, Dean of the Business School, said: “Media organisations are major businesses in their own right, and like any other business, Media is constrained by competitive pressures. The media industry regularly interacts with other businesses and provides an exciting platform for the purpose of raising awareness about new business developments. Against this background, I am delighted to welcome editors from this dynamic industry to BU’s Business School and look forward to meeting key business leaders from across the region.”
