BU is strengthening its reputation with a £5m investment in a new Executive Business School building. |
A multi-million pound investment in a new home for the Business School will strengthen its reputation as one of the South West’s leading centres for business education.
The new building at our Lansdowne Campus will become a focal point for the local business community, and an ideas exchange for the region. It will also deliver the School’s postgraduate portfolio, including a new flagship course, the Bournemouth MBA.
It will feature a contemporary design, cutting-edge conference facilities and the very latest in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT).
Professor Chris Brady, Dean of the Business School said: “The Executive Business School will provide considerable benefits to the business community in Dorset, which will ripple out to others based nationally and internationally.
“Recently we have been able to recruit top notch academics with the experience, expertise and drive to deliver the highest standards of business education including research, professional practice and consultancy.”
The Executive Business School is the latest and most significant investment arising from BU’s Strategic Plan, which was approved last September.
Alan Frost, Chair of the Bournemouth University Board said: “The Strategic Plan offers a bright future for BU’s staff, students and graduates. Part of the investment will come in the form of new premises for the Executive Business School.
“We will also invest in our postgraduate and professional portfolio of courses and in developing the reputation and academic standing of the Business School.”
The new Executive Business School will be one of a group of flagship Centres of Academic Excellence at BU specifically outlined for further development.
Other Centres will focus on the University’s expertise in Tourism, Forensic Science, Environmental Science, Computer Animation and Postgraduate Medical Research & Education.
