Diplomatic visit could open doors to future projects in journalism and the environment. |
A visit by the Czech Republic’s Ambassador to the UK could pave the way for future collaborations with Eastern Europe.
BU Pro Vice-Chancellor Professor Nick Petford welcomed Ambassador Jan Winkler to our Talbot Campus.
Mr Winkler, a former Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, made visits to the School of Conservation Sciences and the Media School.
Professor Petford said that the Ambassador was keen to explore areas for further collaboration between his country and BU, particularly in areas where we have recognised strengths.
"Mr Winkler was very interested in our work on the environment, focusing on pollution control, climate change and biodiversity," said Professor Petford.
"He was also keen to discuss our expertise in journalism and look at the possibility of collaborating on projects linked to the emergence of a free press in the former Eastern Bloc companies."
