Interactive media expert to deliver first BU Professorial Inaugural Lecture of the 2009-10 season. |
One of the country's leading experts in interactive media will deliver his Professorial Inaugural Lecture at Bournemouth University in November.
Anthony Lilley, recently appointed as Visiting Professor to the University's Centre for Excellence in Media Practice, will deliver the lecture Paying Attention: the changing value of media in the Internet age on Wednesday, 11 November, 2009.
Anthony is Chief Executive and Chief Creative Officer of the BAFTA and Peabody award-winning interactive media company Magic Lantern Productions which specialises in making engaging interactive media. The company has worked with leading organisations including the BBC; Channel Four; Guardian Media Group, the UK Government; Google, Tiscali and many others.
Anthony’s inaugural lecture will draw some interesting and, hopefully, surprising conclusions about where media is headed by exploring topics such as search, advertising, social networking and gaming - as well as traditional media. According to Lilley, “attention is the real rarity - and if you can capture attention you can make it pay”.
