Film Council Fund Graduate Script Myles McLeod gets special opportunity |
Myles McLeod, a recent graduate from the MA Screenwriting course, has won a Lottery Script Grant from the Film Council and Screen West Midlands to continue developing his feature film script (written for his MA Major Project).
His film 'The Isle of Apples' is an Arthurian road film that deals with themes of identity, storytelling and aggression. The film follows the journey of an escaped serf who seeks the legendary city of Camelot, and who changes his identity each time he hooks up with a new companion.
The lottery script grant scheme supports writers looking to develop first or second draft screenplays for feature films from treatment or first draft stage. "This is an amazing opportunity," says Myles, "and something I would never have achieved without completing my MA."
Only eight writers received an award in 2004, and only four in 2003.
