Two Media School graduates to release their first feature film in 2012. |
Two Bournemouth University BA Hons Television Production graduates, Emma Biggins and Oliver Milburn, are expecting their first feature film out in March 2012 entitled The Harsh Light of Day.
After graduating from BU in September 2010 Emma was selected to take part in Screen South’s 12-month Producer Development Scheme. She set up Multistory Films in 2010 in order to develop more genre-driven feature films.
Horror film The Harsh Light Of Day will be released theatrically in the UK in February and be distributed as a film in March 2012. The film is being promoted by Left Films.
Emma said of her and Ollie’s success so far “Both Ollie and I are absolutely thrilled that all our hard work has paid off, and are looking forward to promoting the film and seeing it sell around the world. With further projects in development, we hope it will really give a boost to our careers and towards establishing ourselves in the industry.”
Continuing, “It’s going to be surreal seeing our film in cinemas and eventually on the shelf in our local Tesco and HMV!”
After completing his MA in Directing, Oliver has reached success in winning three of the major awards including the ‘People’s Choice’ at the 2010 Landcrab Film Festival, directing two music videos for the Universal and Red Bull.
Oliver and Emma are also both currently working on join project, Blue War, written by Oliver and being produced by Emma.
Emma is also working on Josh Appignanesi’s short film Rufus Stone, which is based on three years of research at Bournemouth University of ‘Connecting Participatory Methods in a Study of Older Lesbian and Gay Citizens in Rural Areas’ which is available to read in the International Journal of Qualitative Research.
