New creative writing and arts magazine launched by BU students.

BACOMM and English students from Bournemouth University have begun work on an innovative new creative writing and arts magazine. ‘inspr’, which is set to be launched as an online magazine next month aims to bring together a range of creative work including poetry, literature, films, scripts and artwork.

Tom Rowley, the BACOM and English student behind the idea hopes that this will allow the talents of creative students to be merged – for poets to work alongside film-makers and artists alongside scriptwriters.

“The idea came from my own creations as a writer. I was thinking of how interesting it would be to have my work adapted into short films and photographs, so was born the idea of an online magazine based on this concept.” Rowley explains.

The hope is for readers of the magazine to share their own creative works via the ‘inspr’ headquarters page. Each month a piece of work which has been uploaded to the site will then be chosen by Rowley and his team for use in the creation of a production. This could be a poem adapted into a visual format or a short script which could be produced into a film. In each issue, the result of this creative merger will be featured on the ‘inspr’ homepage.

The site will also include interviews with a variety of creative individuals, articles designed to inspire creative juices and competitions each month for creative writing and art.

“The aim of the website is to be an entertaining source of online multimedia that boasts the creativity of students in Bournemouth University, giving them a platform to showcase their work and represent Bournemouth from a creative perspective.”

Anyone who would like to get involved in the magazine please contact Tom Rowley: thomasjrowley88@gmail.com and be sure to check out the first issue of ‘inspr’ next month.
