BU Television Production graduate makes the shortlist for prestigious industry award. |
Hamish Anderson, a graduate from Bournemouth University has been shortlisted in the entertainment category of the Royal Television Society (RTS) National Student Television Awards for his film ‘Shadowed’.
The awards celebrate the best audiovisual work created by full or part time students as part of their degrees, recognising outstanding visual and aural creativity, craft skills, innovation and initiative.
Hamish, originally from Broadway near Oxford, graduated from BU with a first in BA (Hons) Television Production and produced the film as a coursework project for his degree.
Hamish says ‘Shadowed’ is the piece that he is most proud of and describes it as an “experimental tap dance film, mixed with a new music genre called Dubstep, so it was a bit off the wall.”
He also praised the support he received whilst at BU and during his time creating the film, stating “I couldn’t have done it by myself though. I had a really good team with me.”
‘Shadowed’ has already been recognised as outstanding, having received the Content is King Award during Hamish’s Graduation Ceremony for the BU Media School in November. This award honoured ‘Shadowed’ as the most innovative film production content produced by a graduate.
Hamish hopes to add to this achievement by winning the RTS award at the ceremony which takes place in May in London.
