BU Public Relations student Anna Jerofejeva who is currently on placement at Hewlett Packard was presented with the 'Best Product Launch/Marketing Program' award in early June. |
Anna successfully ran a marketing communications campaign targeted towards HP's resellers throughout two quarters improving brand presence and ensuring the correct messages reached the consumers. As a prize she was presented with an HP Mini Note 2140 netbook.
HP runs more than 80% of its business through a channel of resellers, which often distorts the marketing messaging and dilutes the brand, hence a necessity to create marketing assets for the resellers which they can easily leverage.
HP offers over 50 placement opportunities to students each year within its three business units, placements vary from marketing to finance and offer a whole range of experiences.
Anna about her placement: "I was lucky enough to get a 13 month placement with HP, which is the world's biggest IT company. I worked in the marketing team of the PSG which covers all personal systems like laptops and desktops. It has been a great and rewarding experience which gave me an insight into the ?grown up' world and helped me understand which career path I want to pursue in my life. HP is a very diverse company and this placement offered me the great opportunity of experiencing different aspects of marketing in an international company. Theoretical knowledge is nothing without practice and I'm glad I got to use some of the knowledge I got in Uni in situ".
Ann about her award: "The awards were announced during a quarterly finance review with the VP of UK, when I saw my name on the board of awardees I almost fell off the chair. It's an amazing feeling when you know you have put a lot of effort into something and you get recognized for it. Working hard always pays off".
