Microsoft and ‘A New Decade of Digital’

Microsoft high-flier gives keynote at Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) event.

The Head of Digital Marketing Strategy at Microsoft, Allister Frost, will visit Bournemouth University (BU) as keynote speaker for a CIM lecture on Wednesday 2 March 2011.

‘A New Decade of Digital’ is the theme for the event, which is open to professionals, university staff and students.

Lecturer in Marketing Communications from the Media School at BU, Graham Goode, said: “This year's event brings together three keynote speakers on the topic of the evolution of marketing communications in the digital era and will highlight approaches taken to customer relationships and engagement by leading practitioners and agencies in the field of digital marketing".

Allister will share his experiences at Microsoft and his thoughts from a business to consumer perspective on new approaches to customer communications.

Fellow keynotes Paolo Nieddu – Senior Planner at Holler Digital Ltd and Iryna Kepych - Digital Strategist from Connect-Group, will share their expertise from an agency perspective.

Rod Wilkes, Chief Executive CIM and Chris Moriaty, Corporate Affairs Manager CIM are going to attend the event.

The annual lecture series, which has been proudly renamed 'The Mike Warne Annual Marketing Communications Lecture', has the key objective of bringing leading marketing practitioners to professionals, academics and students.

Graham continued: “This is the fifth year the Annual Marketing Communications Lecture has been jointly organised by students at BU and the CIM. The lecture has proved to be very popular with CIM members, marketing professionals, local businesses, students and academic staff alike.”

The event takes place in KG01 Kimmeridge House, Talbot Campus, Bournemouth University, BH12 5BB.

Registration is from 6.00pm. The event starts at 6.30pm and finishes at 9.00pm. Tickets cost £15.50 for CIM members, £7.50 for studying members, £25.50 for guests and is free for students.
