Academics from the School of Tourism have engaged in a new Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs) scheme with luxury chocolate purveyor Chococo.

Chococo, of Swanage and Wareham, is owned and run by Andy and Claire Burnet, who sell hand-made chocolates in their shop and chocolate café as well as online.

KTPs are government-funded programmes in which graduates‚ supported by University experts‚ deliver strategic or tactical business projects for companies.

This KTP project will involve the use of emarketing strategies using social media and brand building strategies to leverage additional sales and profitability for Chococo.

David Kilburn, Associate Professor (Enterprise), will be the Lead Academic for the two-year scheme.

David is particularly pleased to be involved with the company. He said: "Chococo is an up and coming company with probity and drive and I can see this KTP scheme having a hugely beneficial effect on its future growth and success."
