Agents, producers, directors and other top people from the world of film and television are among those invited to celebrate the achievements of our screenwriting graduates at a grand showcase event.

The Media School’s Screenwriting Showcase takes place on Thursday 31 January from 6.30pm at The Writers’ Guild of Great Britain, London. It will showcase the work of students from our highly acclaimed BA and MA Screenwriting courses

BA Hons Scriptwriting for Film and Television student Alexander Davis and MA Screenwriting student Lindsey Darking obtained the highest marks for their final screenwriting project in 2007. They’ll receive the prestigious Alan Plater Screenwriting Award from TV and Stage playwright Keith Dewhurst.

The evening will feature short performances from these and other students’ work, led by director Darren Bransford and a team of professional actors.

Stephen Jukes, the Dean of the Media School, will host the event and will be joined by other BU screenwriting staff, including David Hanson, Director of the Bournemouth Screen Academy.

John Foster, Screenwriter in Residence at BU says:‘‘The Degree Show is a very important event for screenwriting graduates. Not only is it a showcase of their work, it also enables them to network with people from the industry.

This prestigious event is a celebration of the work and ambitions of screenwriting students, a culmination of three years creativity and endeavor.’’
