The Malvern Hills: a frontier zone
Mark Bowden

Extensive analytical landscape survey of the Malvern Hills between 1999 and 2004 revealed the degree to which these iconic hills have formed a frontier since at least the Late Bronze Age. The results of the survey also hinted at a special, reverential treatment of the hills for long periods of antiquity and raised questions about the construction and use of the two major hillforts, British Camp and Midsummer Hill.
