Dr Steve Fletcher secures funding for new project |
Dr Steve Fletcher has been successful in obtaining funding from the Daiwa Anglo-Japanese Foundation to lead a project that will link coastal management professionals in Japan and the UK.
A visit will be made by a small team UK coastal academics and practitioners to the Tokyo Bay area to learn from Japanese approaches to managing a highly developed and hazardous coast. A return visit will be made by Japanese partners later in the year with a focus on managing coasts of high environmental value. Potential visit sites include Poole Harbour, the Jurassic Coast and the Isle of Wight.
