Landfill gas issues addressed by BU |
Staff from Bournemouth University are to commence work on landfill sites in the local area which the Borough Concil feels should be checked for levels of gas emissions. The former sites include Iford Meadows and Kings Park. Once the survey has been completed the council will decide if any further action needs to be instigated. In addition, a series of small standpipes will also be placed into the ground on the council-owned sites along with some local residents gardens.
The work is due to start at the end of October and fortnightly inspections will then reveal the precise condition of the ground in question.
