Research Postgraduate Researchers join the school

Eight new PhD Research Postgraduates join the school

The School of Conservation Sciences welcomes eight new PhD Research Postgraduates who will commence their studies on a three year funded studentship PhD programme this term. This is part of a University wide investment to raise its research status and this is the first time that the School has taken on so many Research Postgraduates at any one time. Investment has also been put into the creation of a new research postgraduate room in Christchurch House. The research titles and areas of interest reflect the different interests of the School from the study of ‘geomechanics of volcanoes’ to ‘coastal industries in Prehistoric Roman times’.

The School has also been successful in supporting the application for an Arts & Humanities Research Council (AHRC) three year PhD studentship award for Hannah Paddon. She also will commence her study this term and her area of interest will be the use of biological collections in UK Museums.
