Airport Firefighters Forensic Short Courses July 2007

During July the School of Conservation Sciences will be running several forensic simulations as part of their suite of short courses that are run each year. Our simulations allow students to understand and practice the processes involved in crime scene and disaster scenarios; scenarios that are often impossible to train on as real investigations.

Our courses are led by BU staff, associated professionals such as police and fire service who are world experts in their field. Our facilities include:

These courses will provide an extensive practical training that will enhance the student’s professional capability, employability and augment the knowledge and skills derived from degree programmes.

The following forensic simulations are being run this summer:

The majority of the Mass Graves course takes place in the field, where students will be supervised, monitored and mentored by members of academic staff, world experts in the field. By the end of the fieldwork period students will be familiar with the mass grave excavation process and its requirements in terms of professional skills, logistics and teamwork.
