Dr. Amanda Korstjens A new publication from Dr. Korstjens

BU academic Amanda H. Korstjens describes the importance of kinship in monkey society in her chapter in a new book on Early Human Kinship (Blackwell Publishing) sponsored by the Royal Anthropological Institute, in conjunction with the British Academy.

The strength of this book is that it brings together original studies from leading figures in the biological sciences, social anthropology, archaeology and linguistics to investigate the role of kinship in human evolution and the nature of society.

Amanda’s chapter provides a review of how kinship plays a role in the lives of monkeys to provide a basis for understanding the evolution of human kinship relationships.
